Le nouveau commandant de la Force Barkhane, G\u00e9n\u00e9ral Laurent Michon a d\u00e9clar\u00e9 que malgr\u00e9 la neutralisation par les forces fran\u00e7aises au Mali du chef de l\u2019\u00c9tat Islamique au grand Sahara Adnan Abou Walid Al-Sahraoui, ce groupe jihadiste n’abandonnera pas sa lutte de pr\u00e9dation.<\/p>\n

\u00ab Je confirme la mort de Adnan Abou Walid Al-Sahraoui, dirigeant de l’\u00c9tat islamique au grand Sahel. C’est une vraie satisfaction collective. Je pense d’abord aux populations qui ont \u00e9t\u00e9 victimes pe’dnat des ann\u00e9es au Mali, au Niger et au Burkina \u00bb, a d\u00e9clar\u00e9 le g\u00e9n\u00e9ral Laurent Michon, au sortir d\u2019un entretien avec le pr\u00e9sident Kabor\u00e9 au palais pr\u00e9sidentiel de Ouagadougou.<\/p>\n

\u00ab La lutte continue. Nous savons tous que l’eigs va \u00eatre capable, m\u00eame s\u2019il est tr\u00e8s d\u00e9sorganis\u00e9 de se reconstituer peu \u00e0 peu, et n’abandonnera pas sa lutte de pr\u00e9dation, d’exaction et de totalitarisme terroriste et de semer la terreur \u00bb, a-t-il ajout\u00e9.<\/p>\n

\u00ab Donc la lutte n’est pas finie, mais C’est une vraie victoire collective d\u00fb aux \u00e9changes de renseignements, aux diff\u00e9rentes actions des diff\u00e9rents services et arm\u00e9es des pays et donc nous sommes contents d’avoir mis fin aux nuisances de cet homme malfaisant pour tout le monde \u00bb, a-t-il insist\u00e9.<\/p>\n

Sur les rumeurs du recrutement de mercenaires russes par le Mali, le g\u00e9n\u00e9ral Michon s\u2019est voulu clair : \u00ab La pr\u00e9sence de mercenaires est incompatible avec l’engagement actuel de la France au Mali aussi bien dans sa composante militaire que dans d’autres volets \u00bb.<\/p>\n

\u00ab En tous les cas, si cela s’av\u00e9rait \u00eatre une option retenue \u00e7a changerait effectivement l’engagement de Barkhane au Mali \u00bb, a-t-il ajout\u00e9.<\/p>\n

Les \u00e9changes avec le chef de l\u2019\u00c9tat ont port\u00e9 sur la transformation de Barkhane, annonc\u00e9e par Paris.<\/p>\n

Selon le g\u00e9n\u00e9ral Michon, cette transformation est ax\u00e9e sur une coop\u00e9ration accrue avec certains des pays, avec la Force conjointe du G5 Sahel, et avec la MINUSMA.<\/p>\n

Pour le nouveau commandant de la Force, les changements fondamentaux de Barkhane vont concerner essentiellement une r\u00e9articulation du dispositif au Mali notamment \u00e0 Tessalit, \u00e0 Kidal et \u00e0 Tombouctou et l’engagement de nouveaux partenaires europ\u00e9ens au sein de la Force Barkhane \u00e0 travers notamment la task force TAKUBA.<\/p>\n

Selon le g\u00e9n\u00e9ral Michon, l\u2019engagement de la Force dans la lutte contre les groupes terroristes, Al-Qaida, l\u2019\u00c9tat islamique et leurs franchises demeure intact.<\/p>\n
