Pourquoi restons-nous attache\u0301s a\u0300 une voie plus che\u0300re et plus longue ? Que nous manque-t-il au Burundi pour vivre de notre Lac Tanganyika ? Et si on l\u2019exploitait ? Arguments.<\/p>\n<p>Ceux qui empruntent la RN1 savent, oh combien il est pe\u0301nible de rouler derrie\u0300re des remorques remplies de marchandises. Il n\u2019est pas rare de passer 30 minutes ou 1 heure de temps dans des embouteillages cause\u0301s par ces poids lourds. Ceux-ci de\u0301gradent aussi tre\u0300s rapidement nos routes, sans parler des risques d\u2019accidents.<\/p>\n<p>La majorite\u0301 des camions charge\u0301s de marchandises et venant des pays de la re\u0301gion empruntent cette route. Si rien n\u2019est fait, il est e\u0301vident que dans quelques anne\u0301es, il sera plus difficile de se de\u0301placer sur cette route nationale qui est, par ailleurs, la plus fre\u0301quente\u0301e du Burundi.<\/p>\n<p><b>Des chiffres e\u0301loquents<\/b>\u00ab La diffe\u0301rence entre le cou\u0302t de transport par route et le cou\u0302t de transport par chemin de fer du port de Dar-es-Salaam a\u0300 Kigoma et par le lac Tanganyika fait qu\u2019on enregistre une perte de 90 USD par tonne \u00bb, commentait le Capitaine Dieudonne\u0301 Dukundane en novembre 2021 lors du forum national sur le de\u0301veloppement. L\u2019actuel ministre des infrastructures, de l\u2019e\u0301quipement et des logements sociaux e\u0301tait, a\u0300 l\u2019e\u0301poque, directeur re\u0301gional de l\u2019environnement a\u0300 l\u2019Autorite\u0301 du Lac Tanganyika.<\/p>\n<p>Eric Ntangaro, le secre\u0301taire exe\u0301cutif de l\u2019Association des Transporteurs Internationaux du Burundi (ATIB) affirme que le transport du carburant par camion, de Dar-es-Salaam a\u0300 Bujumbura, dure au minimum 3 jours avec une capacite\u0301 de charge situe\u0301e entre 28 et 30 tonnes : \u00ab Si les marchandises, le carburant inclus, passent par la voie ferroviaire, le train met moins de 48 heures pour effectuer le trajet Dar-es-Salaam-Kigoma et puis, le bateau met entre 10 heures et 12 heures pour effectuer le trajet Kigoma-Bujumbura \u00bb.<\/p>\n<p>La re\u0301habilitation du port de Bujumbura qui, depuis plus de soixante-douze ans n\u2019avait pas e\u0301te\u0301 modernise\u0301, semble prometteuse. Cette re\u0301habilitation permettra a\u0300 ce port d\u2019accroitre sa capacite\u0301 d\u2019accueil qui, actuellement, est de 500 000 tonnes par an. Le port de Bujumbura pourra aussi de\u0301sormais accueillir de gros bateaux.<\/p>\n<p>Jean Baptiste Biherengende, directeur ge\u0301ne\u0301ral de l\u2019Autorite\u0301 Maritime, Portuaire et Ferroviaire (AMPF) estime que la voie lacustre permettra un gain de 40% sur les de\u0301penses en matie\u0300re de transport. Un chantier naval est aussi en cours de construction.<\/p>\n<p>Au niveau du ministe\u0300re de l\u2019Energie et Mines, des e\u0301tats ge\u0301ne\u0301raux ont e\u0301te\u0301 promis pour que tous les intervenants dans ce secteur puissent donner leurs contributions sur la question de l\u2019emprunt de la voie lacustre.<\/p>\n<p><b>La nation d\u2019abord ! <\/b>Bien que les avantages de la voie lacustre soient multiples, l\u2019emprunt de cette voie reste une question de\u0301licate car des inte\u0301re\u0302ts s\u2019y jouent. Selon l\u2019e\u0301conomiste Prosper Niyoboke, il faut une volonte\u0301 politique et une re\u0301flexion de toutes les parties prenantes car, dit-il, des questions se posent : \u00ab Que deviendront ceux qui ont investi dans le transport routier ?
