She made stops at the bedsides of all the four surviving victims of the November 24 Ekondo Titi school attack undergoing treatment at the Limbe Regional Hospital.<\/p>\n

\u201cI am very happy that these children are going to heal with time. And I call on all the families, and teachers as well, that everybody should stay with the government and work within the bounds of the dialogue,\u201d said Nalova Lyonga.<\/p>\n

Moved by the government\u2019s prompt action to their plight as well as for settling all their hospital-related costs, the victims and their parents expressed gratitude to the government.<\/p>\n

Pastor Joseph Tambe of Winner\u2019s Chapel Ekondo Titi thanked President Paul Biya and Minister Nalova Lyonga for the words of comfort.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe want to appreciate the President of this country and the Minister of Secondary Education and these hospital authorities who have been of tremendous help in the recovering of our children. We as the parents of the victims say thank you,\u201d said Pastor Joseph Tambe.<\/p>\n

Hospital officials say all four victims are currently out of danger and are responding to treatment.<\/p>\n

On Wednesday, November 24, 2021, suspected armed separatist fighters killed four students and one teacher in an attack on Government Bilingual High School (GBHS) Ekondo Titi, Ndian Division, South-West Region.<\/p>\n

Local authorities say the yet-to-be-identified militiamen used hand grenades to carry out the attack between 7:30 am and 8:00 am that fateful day.<\/p>\n

Some of the gunmen are said to have been dressed in military fatigue, state media reported.<\/p>\n

The militiamen shot and killed Madam Song Celestine Fien, a French Language teacher who was delivering lessons to Form 2 students at the time of the attack. The mother of four is said to have been a native of Ngwainkuma in Fundong Subdivision, Boyo Division.<\/p>\n

Three students \u2013 one girl and two boys \u2013 were killed in the attack while many others sustained injuries.<\/p>\n

One of the five students seriously injured died en route to the Limbe Regional Hospital through Idenau. Four others are now out of danger and are responding to treatment at the Limbe Regional Hospital.<\/p>\n
