Le S\u00e9nat am\u00e9ricain vient d’approuver la nomination de Christopher Lamora comme ambassadeur des Etats-unisau ameroun.<\/p>\n

Christopher Lamora avait \u00e9t\u00e9 nomm\u00e9 par le pr\u00e9sident Joe Biden en avril dernier. Il \u00e9tait pr\u00e9c\u00e9demment chef de mission adjoint de l’ambassade des \u00c9tats-Unis au Ghana.<\/p>\n

Soup\u00e7onn\u00e9 d’\u00eatre un homosexuel, la nomination de Christopher Lamora a provoqu\u00e9 de vives r\u00e9eactions au Cameroun. Pour certains observateurs de la sc\u00e8ne publique camerounaise, cette nomination est une strat\u00e9gie mise en place par les USA pour pousser le gouvernementde Paul Biya \u00e0 d\u00e9p\u00e9naliser l’homosexualit\u00e9.<\/p>\n

Selon les inscr\u00e8tion, la force de Christopher John Lamora r\u00e9siderait dans sa mani\u00e8re de r\u00e9unir autour de lui la communaut\u00e9 LGBT. Son passage comme chef de mission adjoint \u00e0 l’Ambassade des USA au Ghana en dit long sur lui. Le diplomate a r\u00e9ussi \u00e0 cr\u00e9er une large communaut\u00e9 des homosexuels au Ghana o\u00f9 l’homosexualit\u00e9 est interdite. Lors des soir\u00e9es publiques, il clame haut et fort son orientation sexuelle. Il a dit en 2019 lors du Gay Pride (parade des gays), \u00eatre fier d’\u00eatre membre de la communaut\u00e9 LGBT. L\u00e0, il \u00e9num\u00e8re les difficult\u00e9s qu’il ressent en tant que diplomate homosexuel.<\/p>\n

QUI EST REELLEMENT CHRISTOPHER JOHN LAMORA, LE NOUVEL AMBASSADEUR DES USA AU CAMEROUN ?<\/p>\n

Ce jeudi 15 avril 2021, le pr\u00e9sident Joe Biden a annonc\u00e9 son intention de nommer neuf membres de carri\u00e8re du Senior Foreign Service en tant qu’ambassadeurs pour repr\u00e9senter les \u00c9tats-Unis sur la sc\u00e8ne mondiale. Et parmi ces personnalit\u00e9s figure Christopher Lamora qui va d\u00e9sormais diriger la diplomatie am\u00e9ricaine au Cameroun.<\/p>\n

Christopher Lamora, membre de carri\u00e8re du Senior Foreign Service, \u00e9tait, jusqu\u2019\u00e0 sa nomination, le chef de mission adjoint \u00e0 l’ambassade des \u00c9tats-Unis \u00e0 Accra, au Ghana.<\/p>\n

Il \u00e9tait auparavant sous-secr\u00e9taire adjoint par int\u00e9rim pour l’Afrique centrale et les affaires de s\u00e9curit\u00e9 africaines au Bureau des affaires africaines du D\u00e9partement d’\u00c9tat et il a \u00e9galement \u00e9t\u00e9 directeur du Bureau des affaires centrafricaines, directeur adjoint du Bureau des affaires \u00e9conomiques et r\u00e9gionales du Bureau, et agent de bureau pour la R\u00e9publique d\u00e9mocratique du Congo.<\/p>\n

Christopher Lamora a servi \u00e0 l’\u00e9tranger dans les ambassades des \u00c9tats-Unis au Guatemala, en R\u00e9publique dominicaine, en Gr\u00e8ce et en R\u00e9publique centrafricaine, ainsi qu’au consulat g\u00e9n\u00e9ral des \u00c9tats-Unis \u00e0 Douala, au Cameroun.<\/p>\n

Lamora a obtenu un B.S. \u00e0 l’Universit\u00e9 de Georgetown et parle fran\u00e7ais, espagnol et grec moderne.<\/p>\n
