Principal opposant de Paul Biya, consid\u00e9r\u00e9 par ses soutiens comme le 3\u00e8me pr\u00e9sident du Cameroun, puisqu\u2019ils revendiquent sa victoire lors de l\u2019\u00e9lection pr\u00e9sidentielle de 2018, Maurice Kamto f\u00eate aujourd\u2019hui, 15 f\u00e9vrier son anniversaire. Ceci intervient 48 heures apr\u00e8s celui de Paul Biya qui a f\u00eat\u00e9 ses 89 ans.<\/p>\n

Maurice Kamto, le pr\u00e9sident du MRC a 68 ans ce 15 f\u00e9vrier 2022. N\u00e9 le 15 f\u00e9vrier 1954 d\u2019une famille modeste de la ville de Bafoussam (chef-lieu de la r\u00e9gion de l\u2019Ouest Cameroun), l\u2019opposant et ancien ministre est connu pour sa grande intelligence et son impressionnant CV.<\/p>\n

Le parcours<\/p>\n

Maurice Kamto effectue des \u00e9tudes \u00e0 l\u2019universit\u00e9 de Yaound\u00e9, o\u00f9 il obtient une licence en droit public. \u00ab En 1980, il obtient un dipl\u00f4me d\u2019\u00e9tudes approfondies de droit public fondamental et un dipl\u00f4me d\u2019\u00e9tudes approfondies de droit international \u00e0 la facult\u00e9 de droit de l\u2019Universit\u00e9 de Nice. En 1982, il est dipl\u00f4m\u00e9 de l\u2019Institut international d\u2019administration publique de Paris. En 1983, il obtient un doctorat en droit \u00e0 la facult\u00e9 de droit de Nice. En 1988, il re\u00e7oit le prix Robert-Delavignette de l\u2019Acad\u00e9mie des sciences d\u2019outre-mer pour Pouvoir et droit en Afrique noire. Il est agr\u00e9g\u00e9 des facult\u00e9s fran\u00e7aises de droit la m\u00eame ann\u00e9e. Il devient ensuite doyen de la facult\u00e9 des sciences juridiques et politiques de l\u2019universit\u00e9 de Yaound\u00e9 II6 \u00bb, rappelle le confr\u00e8re actucmeroun.com<\/p>\n

Il est successivement professeur aux universit\u00e9s de Yaound\u00e9, de Ngaound\u00e9r\u00e9 et, depuis 1994, \u00e0 l\u2019universit\u00e9 de Yaound\u00e9 II. Il enseigne \u00e9galement \u00e0 l\u2019Institut des relations internationales du Cameroun (IRIC), et \u00e0 l\u2019\u00c9cole nationale d\u2019administration et de magistrature (ENAM) de Yaound\u00e9. Il est r\u00e9guli\u00e8rement invit\u00e9 par plusieurs universit\u00e9s occidentales et africaines. Il est membre et conseiller juridique de la d\u00e9l\u00e9gation camerounaise de la conf\u00e9rence diplomatique de Rome pour la cr\u00e9ation de la Cour p\u00e9nale internationale (membre du comit\u00e9 de r\u00e9daction) en juillet 1998.<\/p>\n

Mais, sur le plan politique, ce que l\u2019on retient plus de l\u2019homme c\u2019est sa participation puis son emprisonnement \u00e0 l\u2019issue de l\u2019\u00e9lection pr\u00e9sidentielle de 2018, pour laquelle il revendique toujours sa victoire. Depuis, il incarne la principale figure de l\u2019opposition camerounaise.<\/p>\n
