Africa-Press – Cameroun. <\/strong><\/span>L\u2019annonce a \u00e9t\u00e9 faite par communiqu\u00e9 le 16 mars 2022 par l\u2019ONG Greenpeace.<\/b><\/p>\n

Le gouvernement camerounais et Greenpeace encore divis\u00e9. L\u2019ONG s\u2019insurge contre un appel d\u2019offres du Minist\u00e8re des For\u00eats et de la Faune (Minfof) datant du 16 d\u00e9cembre 2021, pour attribution en exploitation de cinq concessions foresti\u00e8res, qui repr\u00e9sentent environ 400 000 hectares de concessions foresti\u00e8res dans les r\u00e9gions de l\u2019Est et du Centre.<\/p>\n

Ces concessions selon l\u2019ONG regroupent quatre Unit\u00e9s Foresti\u00e8res d\u2019Am\u00e9nagement (UFA) de la r\u00e9gion de l\u2019Est et une dans le Centre. 04 UFA sont ouvertes uniquement aux \u00ab soci\u00e9t\u00e9s ayant des UFA dans les r\u00e9gions du Nord-Ouest et du Sud-Ouest \u00bb.<\/p>\n

\u00ab La d\u00e9cision du Minfof d\u2019allouer cette superficie de for\u00eat en prenant pour argument la crise dans le NOSO semble bien contradictoire et paradoxale. De plus, l\u2019allocation de ces for\u00eats fait peser beaucoup de menaces sur les communaut\u00e9s qui y vivent et en d\u00e9pendent et sur la biodiversit\u00e9 \u00bb, a remarqu\u00e9 Ranece Jovial Ndjeudja, responsable de la campagne for\u00eat chez Greenpeace Afrique.<\/p>\n

Du c\u00f4t\u00e9 du gouvernement, il s\u2019agit d\u2019une mesure prise pour combler les pertes dont ont \u00e9t\u00e9 victimes les exploitants de bois exer\u00e7ant dans ces r\u00e9gions en raison de la situation s\u00e9curitaire peu stable ces derni\u00e8res ann\u00e9es.<\/p>\n

Pourtant l\u2019ONG indique que, ces projets dits de d\u00e9veloppement n\u2019ont pas vraiment contribu\u00e9 \u00e0 am\u00e9liorer les conditions de vie de l\u2019ensemble des Camerounais, au contraire, contribuent \u00e0 d\u00e9t\u00e9riorer celles des communaut\u00e9s autochtones et locales, dont la survie d\u00e9pend encore de la for\u00eat.<\/p>\n

\u00ab C\u2019est insoucieux de continuer d\u2019exploiter la for\u00eat au nom du d\u00e9veloppement, quand on sait que ces activit\u00e9s ne b\u00e9n\u00e9ficient qu\u2019\u00e0 un cercle tr\u00e8s restreint de personnes. La for\u00eat n\u2019est pas une ressource illimit\u00e9e. Elle finira par dispara\u00eetre si on ne la prot\u00e8ge pas \u00bb, a soulign\u00e9 Aristide Chacgom, coordinateur de Green Development Advocates (GDA).<\/p>\n

L\u2019ONG va plus loin. Pour elle, les politiques internes du gouvernement en mati\u00e8re de gestion foresti\u00e8re en plus de repr\u00e9senter un r\u00e9el danger au bien-\u00eatre des communaut\u00e9s locales et \u00e0 la biodiversit\u00e9 semblent bien oppos\u00e9es \u00e0 l\u2019ensemble d\u2019engagements internationaux auquel le Cameroun a souscrit ces derni\u00e8res ann\u00e9es.<\/p>\n

\u00ab La politique foresti\u00e8re du gouvernement pose un r\u00e9el danger \u00e0 la sauvegarde du mode de vie des communaut\u00e9s locales et la pr\u00e9servation de la biodiversit\u00e9. Elle viole l\u2019ensemble des engagements internationaux du Cameroun en la mati\u00e8re \u00bb, d\u00e9plore Ghislain Fomou du Service d\u2019Appui aux Initiatives Locales de D\u00e9veloppement (SAILD).<\/p>\n
