Africa-Press – Cameroun. <\/strong><\/span>Investir au Cameroun) – Depuis quelques semaines, les responsables de la Soci\u00e9t\u00e9 de d\u00e9veloppement du coton (Sodecoton), les responsables des coop\u00e9ratives de producteurs de coton et les autorit\u00e9s administratives et les forces de maintien de l\u2019ordre des r\u00e9gions du Nord et de l\u2019Extr\u00eame-Nord sont en ordre de bataille, contre les exportations frauduleuses du coton camerounais vers le Nigeria. \u00c0 ce jour, a souffl\u00e9 une source interne \u00e0 la Sodecoton au trihebdomadaire r\u00e9gional L\u2019Oeil du Sahel, le renforcement des contr\u00f4les aux fronti\u00e8res avec le Nigeria a d\u00e9j\u00e0 permis de saisir quelques 71 tonnes de coton graine en voie d\u2019exportation.<\/p>\n

Mais, ces volumes sont insignifiants, au regard des quantit\u00e9s qui auraient d\u00e9j\u00e0 \u00e9t\u00e9 export\u00e9es vers ce pays voisin, dont les prix d\u2019achat du coton graine sont r\u00e9put\u00e9s plus attractifs. \u00ab\u2009Les pr\u00e9visions de collecte pour les secteurs particuli\u00e8rement affect\u00e9s par la fraude se situant \u00e0 193\u2009400 tonnes de coton graine, il est fort \u00e0 craindre, au vu des quantit\u00e9s d\u00e9j\u00e0 collect\u00e9es dans les usines d\u2019\u00e9grenage et des projections faites par les services techniques comp\u00e9tents, que 19\u2009500 tonnes (soit 10% des pr\u00e9visions de collectes) soient perdues \u00e0 date (33\u2009000 tonnes avaient \u00e9t\u00e9 perdues en 2010-2011 \u00e0 cause du m\u00eame ph\u00e9nom\u00e8ne, NDLR), dont 11\u2009400 tonnes pour la r\u00e9gion de l\u2019Extr\u00eame-Nord et 8\u2009100 tonnes pour la r\u00e9gion du Nord. Et cette perte pourrait s\u2019alourdir si des mesures plus dissuasives ne sont pas prises \u00e0 temps\u2009\u00bb, confie un responsable de la Sodecoton.<\/p>\n

\u00c0 en croire la m\u00eame source, si ces exportations frauduleuses s\u2019intensifient, la Sodecoton pourrait enregistrer des pertes de l\u2019ordre de 9 milliards de FCFA au cours de la campagne cotonni\u00e8re 2021-2022 courante, en raison de la baisse de la production initialement projet\u00e9e \u00e0 369\u2009000 tonnes. Au demeurant, apprend-on, ces pertes financi\u00e8res annonc\u00e9es en cas d\u2019intensification des exportations vers le Nigeria n\u2019int\u00e8grent pas les cr\u00e9dits d\u2019intrants mis \u00e0 la disposition des producteurs par le mastodonte agro-industriel des trois r\u00e9gions septentrionales du Cameroun, en \u00e9change de leur production de coton qui prend finalement le chemin du Nigeria.<\/p>\n

Pour d\u00e9courager ces producteurs app\u00e2t\u00e9s par les prix d\u2019achat pratiqu\u00e9s dans ce pays voisin, alors qu\u2019ils ont re\u00e7u tout le soutien et l\u2019accompagnement de la firme cotonni\u00e8re camerounaise, la Sodecoton menace d\u00e9sormais de les exclure, avec tous leurs complices, du b\u00e9n\u00e9fice des cr\u00e9dits d\u2019intrants de la prochaine campagne.<\/p>\n
