A en croire le journal Int\u00e9gration au matin du dimanche 12 juin 2022, ceux qui ont crois\u00e9 les abb\u00e9s Timoth\u00e9e Zogo (Vicaire \u00e9piscopal charg\u00e9 de l\u2019apostolat des la\u00efcs au dioc\u00e8se d\u2019Obala) et Marcel Phil\u00e9mon Vida (vicaire \u00e0 la cath\u00e9drale de la m\u00eame ville) ont observ\u00e9 que les pr\u00e9lats affichaient triste mine.<\/p>\n<p>Sur leurs visages, l\u2019\u00e9motion \u00e9tait palpable apr\u00e8s la profanation de la tombe de Mgr Jer\u00f4me Owono Mimbo\u00e9, sise au cimeti\u00e8re de la paroisse de Nkometou (d\u00e9partement de la Leki\u00e9, r\u00e9gion du Centre).<\/p>\n<p>Saisis dimanche matin par Mgr Sosth\u00e8ne L\u00e9opold Bayemi Matjei, l\u2019\u00e9v\u00eaque d\u2019Obala, les enqu\u00eateurs de la gendarmerie, affair\u00e9s \u00e0 relever d\u2019\u00e9ventuels indices, en avaient bloqu\u00e9 les acc\u00e8s. \u00ab Tout le monde est attrist\u00e9 et d\u00e9gout\u00e9 par ce qui est arriv\u00e9. Les pierres sont fracass\u00e9es, les plaques de marbre sont bris\u00e9es, les gr\u00e8s sont disloqu\u00e9s. Certains ont roul\u00e9 en contre-bas. \u00c7a a \u00e9t\u00e9 fait de mani\u00e8re syst\u00e9matique, avec beaucoup de m\u00e9thode \u00bb, d\u00e9plore un fid\u00e8le.<\/p>\n<p>N\u00e9 le 4 f\u00e9vrier 1933 \u00e0 Ebolboum dans la r\u00e9gion du sud, Mgr J\u00e9r\u00f4me Owono Mimbo\u00e9 a \u00e9t\u00e9 ordonn\u00e9 pr\u00eatre le 22 juillet 1962 \u00e0 Ngoulemakong. Il a \u00e9t\u00e9 ordonn\u00e9 \u00e9v\u00eaque le 22 juillet 1962. Il a \u00e9t\u00e9 nomm\u00e9 \u00e9v\u00eaque d\u2019Obala le 6 septembre 1987. Le pr\u00e9lat dont la devise \u00e9tait \u00ab la v\u00e9rit\u00e9 dans la charit\u00e9 \u00bb, est mort le 15 juillet 2016 \u00e0 Yaound\u00e9 des suites de maladie.<\/p>\n<p>R\u00e9put\u00e9 proche du proche du pr\u00e9sident de la R\u00e9publique Paul Biya (dont il fut le camarade de classe), le disparu \u00e9tait pr\u00e9sent\u00e9 comme un homme sobre.
