Africa-Press – Cameroun. <\/strong><\/span>Les athl\u00e8tes camerounais sont toujours \u00e0 la course pour remporter leur premi\u00e8re m\u00e9dailles aux Jeux du Commonwealth en cours \u00e0 Birmingham, au Royaume-Uni, depuis le 28 juillet 2022.<\/p>\n

Les Jeux du Commonwealth de 2022, aussi appel\u00e9s Birmingham 2022, ont d\u00e9marr\u00e9 officiellement le 28 juillet 2022 dans la ville anglaise. 37 athl\u00e8tes participant dans 10 disciplines repr\u00e9sentent le Cameroun..<\/p>\n

Les r\u00e9sultats obtenus jusqu\u2019\u00e0 pr\u00e9sent par l\u2019\u00e9quipe du Cameroun, en particulier en natation, en halt\u00e9rophilie et en judo, ont \u00e9t\u00e9 d\u00e9cevants car aucune m\u00e9daille n\u2019a \u00e9t\u00e9 remport\u00e9e. Njoume Charly a \u00e9t\u00e9 le premier athl\u00e8te camerounais \u00e0 \u00eatre \u00e9limin\u00e9 des jeux apr\u00e8s avoir termin\u00e9 6e sur sept nageurs lors du 50 m avec un record de temps de 30,28. Il a \u00e9galement particip\u00e9 au 50 m nage libre, o\u00f9 il a aussi essuy\u00e9 une d\u00e9faite.<\/p>\n

Une autre nageuse camerounaise qui a diminu\u00e9 les espoirs de m\u00e9daille du pays est Nora Milanesie. Elle a particip\u00e9 au 50 m papillon f\u00e9minin dimanche mais a termin\u00e9 5e avec un record de 28,53 secondes. Sa performance ne lui a pas permis de passer \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9tape suivante de la comp\u00e9tition. Elle a expliqu\u00e9 \u00e0 la presse qu\u2019\u00eatre pas au mieux de sa forme apr\u00e8s avoir subi une blessure au genou parfois au dos qui l\u2019a beaucoup affect\u00e9e.<\/p>\n

Les boxeurs Essiane Clothilde dans la cat\u00e9gorie 66-77kg et Albert Mengue Ayissi dans la cat\u00e9gorie 71kg ont tous remport\u00e9 leurs premiers matchs de boxe. Mengue Ayissi qui est champion d\u2019Afrique dans cette cat\u00e9gorie a surpris son adversaire, Nerwin Stephen d\u2019Ecosse pour assurer une victoire de 3-2 points, se qualifiant ainsi pour les 8e de finale. Il reviendra sur le ring le 3 ao\u00fbt prochain.<\/p>\n

En judo, Tsala Tsala Bernadin dans la cat\u00e9gorie des 60 kg a perdu hier son premier combat apr\u00e8s avoir \u00e9t\u00e9 disqualifi\u00e9 \u00e0 cinq secondes de la fin. L\u2019halt\u00e9rophile Guy Michel Ngongang s\u2019est \u00e9galement retir\u00e9 des jeux hier juste apr\u00e8s son entr\u00e9e en comp\u00e9tition.<\/p>\n
