C\u2019est une foul\u00e9e bigarr\u00e9e qui a assist\u00e9 au dernier jour des obs\u00e8ques du Professeur Gervais Mendo Ze \u00e0 Otoakam, un village proche de la ville de Sangm\u00e9lima. Des Membres du gouvernement aux anonymes villageois en passant par des autorit\u00e9s administratives, traditionnelles, religieuses et autres personnalit\u00e9s ont assist\u00e9 sous un ciel cl\u00e9ment, \u00e0 la c\u00e9r\u00e9monie d\u2019hommage et l’inhumation de l\u2019ancien Directeur g\u00e9n\u00e9ral de la CRTV.<\/p>\n

L\u2019Universitaire est d\u00e9c\u00e9d\u00e9 le 9 avril 2021 \u00e0 l\u2019h\u00f4pital central de Yaound\u00e9 des suites d\u2019une longue maladie alors qu\u2019il purgeait depuis 2014, une peine d\u2019emprisonnement de 20 ans \u00e0 la suite de sa condamnation pour d\u00e9tournement de fonds publics.<\/p>\n

Nonobstant son \u00e9tat de sant\u00e9 qui allait de mal en pis, l\u2019homme de 77 ans a \u00e9t\u00e9 maintenu en prison. Le Pr\u00e9sident de la R\u00e9publique, Paul Biya, est demeur\u00e9 sourd aux supplications de la famille de Gervais Mendo Ze d\u2019autoriser au moins son \u00e9vacuation sanitaire en Europe.<\/p>\n

En d\u00e9pit de cette froideur du Chef de l\u2019Etat, Serge Akounou, pr\u00e9sent\u00e9 \u00e0 l\u2019assistance comme \u00e9tant le nouveau chef de la famille Menze Ze, a encens\u00e9 Paul Biya dans son t\u00e9moignage.<\/p>\n
