Africa-Press – Cameroun. <\/strong><\/span>Joseph Tchundjang Pouemi est certainement l\u2019un des plus brillants e\u0301conomistes de l\u2019Histoire du Cameroun et me\u0302me de l\u2019Afrique.<\/p>\n

Il a eu l’intelligence pre\u0301coce de poser bien avant tout le monde l’inde\u0301pendance mone\u0301taire au fondement de la ve\u0301ritable souverainete\u0301.<\/p>\n

Apre\u0300s de brillantes e\u0301tudes en France couronne\u0301es par deux doctorats, il rentre au Cameroun et se met imme\u0301diatement au service de la nation.<\/p>\n

Apre\u0300s avoir e\u0301te\u0301 tour a\u0300 tour Mai\u0302tre-assistant, mai\u0302tre de confe\u0301rences agre\u0301ge\u0301; il est nomme\u0301 Professeur Titulaire a\u0300 l\u2019Universite\u0301 de Yaounde\u0301. En 1973, il est nomme\u0301 Chef de De\u0301partement des Sciences e\u0301conomiques. On lui confie la Direction de l\u2019Institut d\u2019administration des entreprises (IAE).<\/p>\n

C\u2019est de ce dernier poste qu\u2019il obtient sa mise en disponibilite\u0301 et se rend en Co\u0302te d\u2019ivoire en 1975 ou\u0300 il est nomme\u0301 Professeur a\u0300 l\u2019Universite\u0301 d\u2019Abidjan et dirige le de\u0301partement d\u2019E\u0301conomie publique.<\/p>\n

En effet, panafricaniste dans l\u2019a\u0302me, il voulait former ide\u0301ologiquement les e\u0301conomistes camerounais. Lorsqu\u2019on lui retire la direction ide\u0301ologique de la formation des e\u0301tudiants, frustre\u0301, il s\u2019en va en Co\u0302te d\u2019ivoire.<\/p>\n

En 1977, Joseph Tchundjang Pouemi rejoint le Fonds mone\u0301taire international (FMI) a\u0300 Washington. Il de\u0301missionne deux ans plus tard du fait d\u2019un de\u0301saccord total avec les prescriptions e\u0301conomiques et mone\u0301taires de cet organisme.<\/p>\n

Ce se\u0301jour lui a inspire\u0301 son livre a\u0300 succe\u0300s et visionnaire : \u201cMonnaie, Servitude et Liberte\u0301\u201d. Ouvrage de\u0301die\u0301 \u201ca\u0300 tous les enfants d\u2019Afrique que l’intole\u0301rance a prive\u0301s de la joie de servir la terre nourricie\u0300re\u201d.<\/p>\n

Il retourne au Cameroun en 1979 et est nomme\u0301 professeur au Centre universitaire de Douala, nouvellement cre\u0301e\u0301. Il en deviendra le directeur ge\u0301ne\u0301ral en aou\u0302t 1983, fonction qu\u2019il assume jusqu\u2019en aou\u0302t 1984.<\/p>\n

Le Pr Joseph Tchundjang Pouemi est mort le 27 de\u0301cembre 1984 de manie\u0300re myste\u0301rieuse a\u0300 l’a\u0302ge de 47 ans; a\u0300 la fleur de l\u2019a\u0302ge. On retrouve son corps inanime\u0301 dans sa chambre.<\/p>\n

Les rumeurs les plus folles vont circuler au sujet de sa mort. On parle alors d\u2019assassinat, d\u2019empoisonnement et me\u0302me de suicide.<\/p>\n

Beaucoup pensent qu\u2019il a e\u0301te\u0301 e\u0301limine\u0301. Un assassinat de\u0301guise\u0301 en suicide. Mais par qui et pourquoi ?<\/p>\n
