Africa-Press<\/a> – Cameroun<\/a>. <\/strong><\/span>Dans le cadre de la promotion des langues officielles au Cameroun, la Cameroon Telecommunications (CAMTEL) instaure la pratique du bilinguisme en son sein. En effet, le 12 mai 2021, au si\u00e8ge de l\u2019entreprise \u00e0 Yaound\u00e9, le directeur g\u00e9n\u00e9ral, Judith Yah Sunday, a lanc\u00e9 \u00able Bilingualism day\u00bb.<\/p>\n

C\u2019est une initiative qui \u00abconsacre la journ\u00e9e de mercredi comme celle o\u00f9 le bilinguisme doit \u00eatre \u00e0 la une de toutes les conversations. Durant celle-ci, ceux qui ont le fran\u00e7ais comme premi\u00e8re langue doivent faire l\u2019effort de s\u2019exprimer en anglais. Dans le m\u00eame temps, les locuteurs anglophones parleront fran\u00e7ais\u00bb, rapporte le quotidien national bilingue Cameroon Tribune en kiosque ce 17 mai 2021.<\/p>\n

Avec cette initiative, CAMTEL s\u2019inscrit en droite ligne des dispositions de la loi du 24 d\u00e9cembre 2019 portant promotion des langues officielles au Cameroun. Pour le DG de CAMTEL, ce qui a \u00e9t\u00e9 officiellement lanc\u00e9 le 12 mai dernier est le fruit d\u2019un travail de longue haleine entam\u00e9 depuis fort longtemps au sein de l\u2019entreprise. \u00abNotre journal interne, \u00abCAMTEL Today\u00bb, a des articles \u00e0 la fois en fran\u00e7ais et en anglais. Nous avons \u00e9galement une \u00e9mission radio tous les samedis matin dans ces deux langues. Nous avons \u00e9galement une cellule de la traduction, de l\u2019interpr\u00e9tariat et de la promotion du bilinguisme\u00bb, affirme Judith Yah Sunday dans les colonnes du journal.<\/p>\n

Pour cette c\u00e9r\u00e9monie, la Commission nationale pour la promotion du bilinguisme et du multiculturalisme (CNPBM) \u00e9tait repr\u00e9sent\u00e9e. \u00abNous avons effectu\u00e9 une descente sur le terrain il y a deux ans pour sensibiliser les entreprises et \u00e9tablissements publics en ce qui concerne le respect des dispositions l\u00e9gales qui consacrent l\u2019anglais et le fran\u00e7ais comme langues officielles d\u2019\u00e9gale valeur. Nous sommes ravis de savoir que les recommandations qui ont \u00e9t\u00e9 faites sont suivies. CAMTEL a lanc\u00e9 sa journ\u00e9e hebdomadaire du bilinguisme. Nous ne pouvons qu\u2019encourager cela\u00bb, s\u2019est r\u00e9jouie Agn\u00e8s Mbappe, membre de la Commission et repr\u00e9sentante du pr\u00e9sident, Peter Mafany Musonge.<\/p>\n
