Africa-Press – Cameroun. <\/strong><\/span>Investir au Cameroun) – En lanc\u0327ant la campagne agricole 2023 dans la partie me\u0301ridionale du Cameroun, le 11 avril 2023 a\u0300 Nanga-Eboko, dans la re\u0301gion du Centre, le ministre de l\u2019Agriculture, Gabriel Mbairobe, a annonce\u0301 que le gouvernement camerounais va soutenir le prix de 50 000 tonnes d\u2019engrais en 2023, gra\u0302ce a\u0300 une subvention de 14 milliards de FCFA. L\u2019on ignore le me\u0301canisme de cette subvention, qui devrait cependant constituer une bouffe\u0301e d\u2019oxyge\u0300ne pour les agriculteurs en proie a\u0300 la flambe\u0301e des prix des intrants, dont les engrais.<\/p>\n

En effet, depuis le de\u0301clenchement la guerre entre l\u2019Ukraine et la Russie, qui fournit au Cameroun 43% des engrais importe\u0301s (contre 11% pour la Chine), les prix de cet intrant agricole ont fortement augmente\u0301. Ce qui, selon les projections faites par la Banque des Etats de l\u2019Afrique centrale (Beac) en fin d\u2019anne\u0301e 2022, devrait induire une baisse de production dans l\u2019agriculture vivrie\u0300re et de rente (notamment la banane) au Cameroun, au premier trimestre 2023. Selon les agronomes, les pre\u0301visions ne sont pas plus reluisantes non plus pour le 2e trimestre courant.<\/p>\n

En raison de cette conjoncture morose, le Cameroun a enregistre\u0301 une augmentation de ses de\u0301penses d\u2019importations des engrais de 43,4% entre janvier et septembre 2022. Ce volume de de\u0301penses, qui a contribue\u0301 a\u0300 obe\u0301rer la balance commerciale du pays, est re\u0301ve\u0301le\u0301 dans le dernier rapport de l\u2019Institut national de la statistique (INS) sur le commerce exte\u0301rieur du Cameroun.<\/p>\n
