Africa-Press – Cameroun. <\/strong><\/span>Investir au Cameroun) – La Socie\u0301te\u0301 de de\u0301veloppement du coton (Sodecoton), le mastodonte de l\u2019agro-industrie dans les trois re\u0301gions septentrionales du Cameroun, vient de proce\u0301der a\u0300 l\u2019indemnisation des populations touche\u0301es par le projet d\u2019implantation de sa 11e usine d\u2019e\u0301grenage du coton a\u0300 Godola, pre\u0300s de Maroua, dans la re\u0301gion de l\u2019Extre\u0302me-Nord. Ces populations pre\u0301alablement recense\u0301es par les autorite\u0301s locales ont perc\u0327u au total 48 millions de FCFA, apprend-on officiellement.<\/p>\n

Le franchissement de cette e\u0301tape devrait permettre a\u0300 la Sodecoton de re\u0301aliser sereinement son projet, sans grincements de dents des populations de\u0301guerpies sur le site du projet. En effet, dans la plupart des projets d\u2019infrastructures et industriels au Cameroun, le de\u0301marrage des travaux ou alors la poursuite des travaux ont souvent e\u0301te\u0301 perturbe\u0301s par les populations re\u0301clamant des indemnisations.<\/p>\n

La date du de\u0301marrage des travaux sur le terrain n\u2019a pas encore e\u0301te\u0301 re\u0301ve\u0301le\u0301e. L\u2019on se souvient que fin 2022, la Sodecoton annonc\u0327ait de\u0301ja\u0300 des ne\u0301gociations avec des bailleurs de fonds, dans l\u2019optique d\u2019obtenir les financements pour la re\u0301alisation de ce projet. L\u2019usine d\u2019e\u0301grenage de coton de Godola fait partie du plan de redressement 2017-2023 de la Sodecoton. Cette usine vise a\u0300 doper les capacite\u0301s de transformation de l\u2019entreprise, en pre\u0301lude a\u0300 la hausse de la production cotonnie\u0300re annonce\u0301e a\u0300 400 000 tonnes de\u0300s l\u2019anne\u0301e 2025.<\/p>\n
