Africa-Press – Cameroun. <\/strong><\/span>Investir au Cameroun) – Le 17 avril 2024, le Cameroun a proce\u0301de\u0301 au remboursement de 39,8 milliards de FCFA sur le marche\u0301 des titres publics de la Banque des E\u0301tats de l\u2019Afrique centrale (BEAC). Reconnu pour sa solvabilite\u0301 depuis l\u2019inauguration de ce marche\u0301 il y a pre\u0300s de 13 ans, le Cameroun a utilise\u0301 sa strate\u0301gie habituelle d\u2019emprunt pour effectuer ce remboursement.<\/p>\n

A\u0300 cet effet, deux nouvelles e\u0301missions de bons du Tre\u0301sor assimilables (BTA) ont e\u0301te\u0301 re\u0301alise\u0301es le 15 avril, soit deux jours avant la date de remboursement. Ces e\u0301missions, consistant en des titres a\u0300 26 semaines pour 40 milliards de FCFA et a\u0300 52 semaines pour 25 milliards de FCFA, ont permis de lever 49,4 milliards de FCFA aupre\u0300s des investisseurs. Cette somme a non seulement couvert le remboursement du\u0302, mais a e\u0301galement ge\u0301ne\u0301re\u0301 un exce\u0301dent de tre\u0301sorerie de 10 milliards de FCFA pour le Cameroun.<\/p>\n

Les taux d\u2019inte\u0301re\u0302t applique\u0301s lors de ces ope\u0301rations ont refle\u0301te\u0301 la tension croissante sur le marche\u0301, qui a vu ses exigences s\u2019accroi\u0302tre au fil des mois en raison d\u2019une politique mone\u0301taire restrictive. Le Cameroun a offert un taux d\u2019inte\u0301re\u0302t moyen de 6,3% sur les BTA a\u0300 26 semaines et de 6,5% sur ceux a\u0300 52 semaines, des taux nettement supe\u0301rieurs au plafond de 3% qui e\u0301tait couramment pratique\u0301 par le Tre\u0301sor public camerounais sur ces titres il y a quelques anne\u0301es.<\/p>\n
