Pour renverser la courbe, le gouvernement entend mettre sur pied des mesures drastiques. C\u2019est ainsi que les autorit\u00e9s m\u00e8nent depuis quelques semaines des r\u00e9flexions sur la suspension de la gratuit\u00e9 du traitement contre la Covid-19. Il est question selon les autorit\u00e9s, par cette mesure, d\u2019inciter plus de Camerounais \u00e0 se vacciner \u00ab L\u2019\u00c9tat ne pourra pas continuer \u00e0 faire un traitement global pour des personnes qui refusent de se faire vacciner. Pourquoi les autres Camerounais qui, eux, sont all\u00e9s \u00e0 la vaccination et se sont mis \u00e0 l\u2019abri, doivent payer pour celui qui refuse de se faire vacciner ? \u00bb, a d\u00e9clar\u00e9 le ministre de la Sant\u00e9 publique (Minsant\u00e9), Manaouda Malachie, lors d\u2019une rencontre avec les responsables des h\u00f4pitaux mi-juillet.<\/p>\n<p>\u00ab De plus en plus, on se pose la question de savoir, pour quelqu\u2019un qui refuse de se faire vacciner, comment le prendre en charge lorsqu\u2019il tombe malade gravement et qu\u2019il consomme 15 \u00e0 20 litres d\u2019oxyg\u00e8ne par jour. Il aurait pu \u00e9viter cela par la vaccination, mais a refus\u00e9 et il vient cr\u00e9er une charge pour l\u2019\u00c9tat \u00bb, a-t-il ajout\u00e9. Le Minsant\u00e9 affirme que \u00ab la r\u00e9flexion se poursuit au niveau du gouvernement \u00bb autour de cette question.<\/p>\n<p>400 000 personnes vaccin\u00e9es<\/p>\n<p>Selon les statistiques officielles, seulement 400 000 doses de vaccins ont \u00e9t\u00e9 administr\u00e9es \u00e0 ce jour. Un chiffre bien en de\u00e7\u00e0 de l\u2019objectif de 5 millions de personnes (soit de 20% de la population) \u00e0 vacciner d\u2019ici la fin de l\u2019ann\u00e9e 2021.<\/p>\n<p>Pour la prise en charge, le Cameroun administre un traitement global et gratuit qui est offert aux malades de Covid-19 dans les centres de prise en charge. Mais si la fin de cette gratuit\u00e9 venait \u00e0 \u00eatre act\u00e9e, les personnes qui contracteraient le virus devraient d\u00e9sormais payer pour se faire soigner, la facture pouvant monter jusqu&rsquo;\u00e0 des centaines de mille de FCFA.
