La nouvelle de son d\u00e9c\u00e8s a fait le tour des r\u00e9seaux sociaux. Aussit\u00f4t plusieurs amoureux du sport qui l\u2019ont connu ont tenu \u00e0 saluer un sportif accompli qui a su donner tout ce qu\u2019il pouvait donner sur les stades. Ci-dessous l\u2019hommage d\u2019un ancien sportif camerounais qui l\u2019a connu pendant plus de 40ans.<\/p>\n

V\u00e9ritable coup de massue que l’annonce, \u00e0 l’aube de vendredi 20 ao\u00fbt 2021, du d\u00e9c\u00e8s de Pierre Ngobay, l’arch\u00e9type du handballeur moderne de l’\u00e9poque o\u00f9 il \u00e9tait encore en activit\u00e9.<\/p>\n

Il retrouve dans l’\u00e9ternit\u00e9 d’autres anciens joueurs et internationaux ayant \u00e9volu\u00e9 dans la grande, embl\u00e9matique et inoubliable Rail handball club de Douala.<\/p>\n

Six sont d\u00e9c\u00e9d\u00e9s.<\/p>\n

Bien que diminu\u00e9 psychologiquement apr\u00e8s le d\u00e9c\u00e8s de sa maman, Pierre Ngobay s’est battu avec les moyens disponibles. Au dernier moment, il a manifest\u00e9 l’intention d’une \u00e9vacuation sanitaire. H\u00e9las ! Personne n’a malheureusement la ma\u00eetrise de la derni\u00e8re minute.<\/p>\n

Je l’ai connu depuis plus de 40 ans alors qu’il \u00e9tait \u00e9l\u00e8ve du lyc\u00e9e technique de Koumassi et joueur de Rail handball club. Nous avons chemin\u00e9 dans le mouvement sportif et plus tard avons \u00e9t\u00e9 recrut\u00e9 \u00e0 la R\u00e9gie Nationale des Chemins de Fer du Cameroun sous le magist\u00e8re du Pr\u00e9sident Directeur G\u00e9n\u00e9ral Adolphe Moudiki. C’est sous son r\u00e8gne que le sport prend son envol dans la soci\u00e9t\u00e9.<\/p>\n

En 1984, l’Association des cheminots du Cameroun re\u00e7oit des investissements importants et cons\u00e9quents. Rail handball se retrouve \u00e0 titiller le les grands du continent. Pierre Ngobay au fil du temps confirme le bien imagin\u00e9 et attendu de lui. Meilleur 10 indiscutable. Avec ses co\u00e9quipiers, ils dominent la discipline en alignant des jaloux \u00e0 tous les niveaux. Il me souvient qu’en 1986, Pierre Ngobay et ses co\u00e9quipiers disputaient contre tous y compris la Fecahand, la finale de la semaine de la Coupe au stadium de Madagascar devant le Ministre de tutelle Ibrahim Mbombo Njoya, actuel Sultan Roi des Bamoun.<\/p>\n

Pierre Ngobay apr\u00e8s le haut niveau s’est reconverti dans l’entra\u00eenement au moment o\u00f9 je pr\u00e9sidais aux destin\u00e9es de V\u00e9t\u00e9rans handball dames de Douala fond\u00e9e par la Sage-femme et capitaine titulaire Seyandji \u00e9pouse Esso Hermenegilde.<\/p>\n

Avant le handball, Pierre Ngobay a port\u00e9 les gants de boxe et fini sa vie sportive par le lawn-tennis.<\/p>\n

L’ami Pierre Ngobay, digne fils de New-bell, un quartier chaud de Douala, quitte ce monde apr\u00e8s avoir occup\u00e9 la fonction de comptable aux chemins de fer du Cameroun.<\/p>\n

Rappel : Pierre Ngobay a jou\u00e9 \u00e0 l’\u00e9quipe nationale militaire de handball.<\/p>\n

Que l’\u00e2me de ce vaillant soldat repose en paix.<\/p>\n
