
Africa-Press – Cape verde. Athletes Itelvina Reis and Milly Brito won the short trail and Filomena Vieira and Flávio Andrade won the long trail in the first stage of the Santo Antão Triangle Trail that took place in Ribeira Grande. The second stage takes place today, at Paul.
The athletes Itelvina Reis (female) and Milly Brito (male) won the short trial with times of 01:29 and 01:04, respectively. The podium of the women’s competition also featured Marlicia Sanches, ranked second, with 1:30 and Liliana Medina, third, with 01:32.
The men’s podium was completed with Cavickson Fortes, in second place, who made a time of 01:06, and, in third place, Quelton Lomba with a time of 01:07.

Athletes Filomena Vieira (female) and Flávio Andrade (male) won the first stage of the Cabo Verde Triangle Trail, covering the 34 kilometers (Km) in 07:18 and 04:27, respectively.
Filomena Vieira was the only one to climb the podium because her opponent felt unwell during the race and ended up giving up.
The podium of the men’s competition was completed with Valter Araujo, second place, with 04:39 and António Pereira, third place, with 04:45.
The first stage of the Santo Antão Triangle Trail was completed yesterday, Friday, 9th, in the municipality of Ribeira Grande, and 19 athletes took part in it, covering a distance of 34 kilometres.
