Africa-Press – Cape verde. The island of São Vicente will host, on the 17th of December, a new demonstration in favor of the causes of justice, carried out by Sokols and by the MDSV- Movement for the development of São Vicente. On the table is a new day of struggle and awareness “for more and better justice, against abuses of power and for a fair trial” by lawyer and deputy Amadeu Oliveira.
According to information advanced by the organization, prior to the demonstration, a civic day is being carried out in the various locations of São Vicente, with the aim of interacting with the population to sensitize citizens on various issues related to justice.
Among the topics, the Constitution, its importance and the reasons why it cannot be violated, on the fundamental rights of citizens enshrined therein; on the fundamental pillars of the democratic rule of law.
The Legislative Power; the Executive Branch; the Judiciary; the role of the President of the Republic; the responsibility of each instituted Power and also making citizens aware that they are the active subject of change and that in order to change it is necessary to act are other reasons behind the awareness-raising action to be carried out.
It will culminate in the demonstration on December 17th, with a concentration scheduled for 3 pm in the square where Cesária Évora’s mural is located, Praça Dom Luís, to then travel through various arteries of the city.
