
Africa-Press – Cape verde. The arise “in recent times” of new accommodation and restaurants in Tarrafal de Monte Trigo, Porto Novo, Santo Antão, was this Tuesday highlighted by the City Hall of Porto Novo, which exults with the recovery of tourism in this tourist village.
In a note, the City Hall of Porto Novo highlighted the fact that Tarrafal, which is one of the areas included in the program for the enhancement of rural villages in Santo Antão, together with Monte Trigo, is being “much sought after by national investors and international”.
“Tarrafal and Monte Trigo are two fishing villages that are part of the tourism and environmental enhancement program for rural villages, developed by the Government of Cape Verde, which consists of diversifying the tourist offer, improving basic sanitation and increasing income and the quality of life of the population”, states the document.
The City hall of Porto Novo announced that, within the framework of this project, urban requalification works will be launched “soon” in these two villages, with “enormous potential in terms of tourism, fishing, and agriculture and also with strong cultural, historical attractions and a great diversity of scenic beauty”.
