Africa-Press – Cape verde. Prime Minister Ulisses Correia e Silva today expressed his intention to name the National Stadium “Estádio Pelé”, in honor of the king of Brazilian football who died last week.
Ulisses Correia e Silva said that the intention had already been communicated to FIFA, as it was the institution that launched the challenge, and he hopes, shortly, to materialize the nomination.
The intention to change the name of the National Stadium to “Estádio Pelé” is motivated, according to the prime minister, due to the historical and cultural relations between Brazil and Cape Verde and the legacy left by Pelé for the Portuguese speaking world, for the world and for several generations.
