Africa-Press – Cape verde. The General Inspection of Economic Activities ordered the closure of the activities of an aviary in Praia Formosa, in the municipality of São Domingos, because it presents conditions that “jeopardize public health”. The owner is a businessman of Chinese nationality.
The intervention took place after a complaint about a nauseating smell that was felt in the vicinity of the aviary, and an IGAE brigade went to the place on the morning of January 5th to verify the veracity of the information, which, in fact, was proved.
The investigation, IGAE told Inforpress, resulted in the lifting of a temporary suspension of activity, due to a “serious lack” of cleanliness and hygiene conditions in the facilities, warehouse and surrounding areas.
Expired license
“We are not going to lift the space seal until you have everything in compliance. I must also say that the company’s license has expired for some time, so the Industry Department must carry out an inspection before renewing it”, explained the General Inspector, Paulo Monteiro.
In addition to the suspension, the IGAE will initiate an administrative offense procedure, in order to make the company, owned by Chinese nationality, pay a fine, regardless of whether activities are suspended or not.
