Africa-Press – Cape verde. People from the island of Sal, residents of the Ribeira Funda area, especially, express satisfaction with the restoration of Pracinha d’Quebrod, considered a reference on the island, built several decades ago by “Nhô Teodor” and friends.

The square of Pracinha d’Quebrod, which now boasts the name of “Nhô Teodor”, Teodoro dos Reis Santos, by his own name, who built that space for friends to meet for a game of bisca and uril, has been admired by anyone who it goes there.

Some shake their heads in a “yes sir or great” gesture, while others observe the toponymic plaque in honor of “Nhô Teodor” and friends who participated in the idea and construction of Pracinha d’Quebrod, in times gone by.

The homage ceremony for “Nhô Teodor” and friends, a project of the children’s initiative, embraced by the City Hall of Sal, took place last Friday, January 6th, the birth day of “Nhô Teodor”, or Teata as he was also known. If he were alive he would be one hundred years old on this day.
