Africa-Press – Cape verde. The candidate for President of the MpD, Orlando Dias, opponent of Ulisses Correia e Silva in the internal elections of April 16, presents his candidacy this Saturday, 21st, starting at 4 pm, in the city of Praia.
Under the motto “Freedom without fear!” the event includes a popular festival and a meeting of activists, with the Cesaltina Ramos Polyvalent Secondary School, in Achada Santo António, Praia, as the stage.
Political interventions are foreseen by supporters of Orlando Dias, among them, the jurist and Spokesperson for the Candidacy, Andyra Lima, the surgeon and National Representative, João Paulo Lima.
The presentation of the candidacy, which includes the participation of militants from the municipalities of Santiago Norte, will also include a musical moment with the drumming groups Bem pa Fica (from Praia Baixo, São Domingos), Nova Estrela de Latada (Praia) and Real de Monte Negro (Santa Cruz).
The singer Dulce Sequeira and the guitarist Lulan will also take to the stage.
New Political Charter to unite the MpD and the Cape Verdean nation.
It should be recalled that, recently, Dias presented a new political charter to “unite” the MpD and the Cape Verdean nation.
He promised a leadership with a driving vision of Cape Verdeans, aggregating a plural and organized party, decentralized and focused on a modern policy.
The objective, as he said, is to “rescue the MpD and return the Party to the militants”, in a logic of defense of the republican culture, but also of a party with a future.
Breathing new life into democracy
For the country, he defends the need to “give new life to democracy”, namely through the Constitutional Revision, the fight against nepotism, clientism, friendship and cronyism.
The party goes to the polls during the National Convention scheduled for May 26, 27 and 28, 2023.
Orlando Dias is joined by Ulisses Correia e Silva, current president of the fan party and head of government.
