Africa-Press – Cape verde. The municipality of Porto Novo is expected to receive new investments in water desalination for the population and agriculture, the volume of which will be around 3.525 cubic meters per day.
The largest investment in this area will be in charge of the Aquasun Energia e Água company, which is preparing to install in 2022 in this municipality a desalination plant with capacity for 3.500 cubic meters per day, to irrigate 78 hectares of agricultural land in the perimeters of Casa de Meio and Ponte Sul.
The installation of this desalination plant is part of the agri-industrial project for Santo Antão already announced by this company in an investment of more than two billion escudos, to which Inforpress had access, which also includes the assembly of a large-scale photovoltaic solar plant with 6.8 MWp capacity.
This project, which will be present on February 4 in the Cabo Verde Investment Forum at the Expo 2020 in Dubai, will be the largest private investment once implemented in Santo Antão, benefiting 200 families (840 people) and creating 300 jobs.
