Africa-Press – Cape verde. Ribeira Grande, Feb 1 (Inforpress) — Some citizens from Ribeira Grande are “concerned” about the hygienic conditions at the municipal market of Ribeira Grande, Santo Antão, and warn the authorities to take action “as soon as possible”.
Alberto Slee told Inforfress that he went shopping at the market and when he saw “so much filth” “mainly” in the place where they sell fish he was “worried”.
According to the same, in addition to the fish being exposed without ice, with several insects on top, the materials in the place are “precarious” and hygiene is “non-existent”.
“I was extremely concerned about the hygiene and food safety conditions that are non-existent. The authorities have to take action because there is a source of disease” he warned. The market, according to Alberto Slee, should be “always” clean.
