Africa-Press – Cape verde. The Porto Novo Basket team was crowned regional basketball champion of Santo Antão this Sunday, the 9th, by beating the Madrugadores formation by 70-68, in the second game of the play off.
Last week, Porto Novo Basket had beaten Madrugadores in the first game of the final by 56-49.
The play-off was to be disputed in the best of three games.
In this resumption of official basketball competitions in Santo Antão, Porto Novo Basket won, in addition to the regional men’s senior championship, the opening tournament in this category.
In the men’s junior basketball regional championship (under-18), the teams from Porto Novo Basket and Liprobasket are tied (1 – 1) in the play-off, with the third and final game scheduled for the 14th of July in the city of Porto Novo.
