The Association’s leader, Odair Gomes, understands that Santo Antão will have to “learn to live with the new coronavirus pandemic” and the tour guides are “ready” to provide tourists with a better environment to make visits “a real experience”.
“Europe has realized this and is lifting the measures and people can travel across borders. These are positive signs we have long expected in the tourism sector”, said this responsible, regarding the constant visits of groups of tourists to Santo Antão, even in the pandemic context.
Despite the COVID-19, Santo Antão continues to assert itself as “a trekking destination for nature lovers”, informed the Tourism Office of Porto Novo, which also praised the fact that this island continues, constantly, to receive a group of tourists.
These are tourists, especially Europeans, who seek the island of Santo Antão, at this time of year, to go hiking on trails in search of nature.
