Africa-Press – Cape verde. The Therapeutic Community of Granja de São Filipe marks 18 years of its creation with various sporting and cultural activities throughout the month of July. The central act of the celebrations will take place on the 25th, in the Banquet Hall of the Government Palace.
The Therapeutic Community of Granja de São Filipe, called CTGSF, located in Cidade da Praia, is the first Therapeutic Community in Cape Verde, created on July 25, 2005.
Between the 11th and the 22nd of July there will be open conversation sessions with residents and former residents of the therapeutic community, football and basketball games, including the finals.
Cultural moments and testimonies
On the 25th, the central act of the celebrations, at the Government Palace, will feature musical moments by former user, and now social activist and artist, Gah da Lomba and Paulinha Teixeira.
There will also be intervention and testimonies of former users of the therapeutic community.
On July 27, there will be a walk to San Francisco, with the participation of residents, former residents and CTGSF employees.
The CTGSF is a Health Unit specialized in the Treatment and Social Reintegration of drug addicts of alcohol and other drugs, of both sexes, from the age of 16, through a nine-month hospital stay.
