Africa-Press – Cape verde. The bathing beaches of Curraletes, Armazém and Caisinho, in the city of Porto Novo, in Santo Antão, will be, from now on, and for the next three months, guarded by a team of lifeguards.
The information was provided today by the Porto Novo City Council, which said that these beaches, the most frequented during the hottest season, are being guarded by a team of lifeguards, between 3 pm and 8 pm, “to reinforce the safety of bathers”.
As Inforpress found on the spot, this holiday period and with the warmer season also increases the number of bathers on the bathing beaches of Curraletes, Armazém and Caisinho.
Hence, the decision by the city council and the Maritime and Port Institute (IMP) to place lifeguards on the beaches, with the collaboration of the Porto Novo Volunteer Fire Brigade.
