Africa-Press – Cape verde. Cape Verdean international swimmer Jayla Pina improved her time by one second by ranking ninth in her series today and 50th in the universe of 57 athletes at the World Aquatics Championship in Japan.
Jayla Pina made this mark in the women’s 100 meters breaststroke with a time of 01:14:09.
Ailton Lima, making his debut in a championship of this scale, according to the Cape Verdean Olympic Committee, clocked a time of 00’28′′66, in the men’s 50-metre butterfly event, placing 78th overall out of 91 participants.
Cape Verde will also have athletes Latroya Pina and Troy Pina in the competition.
The event takes place in Japan until the 30th of this month and Cabo Verde participates with four athletes, the brothers Jayla, Troy and Latroya Pina and Ailton Lima.
