Africa-Press – Cape verde. The president of the National Data Protection Commission (CNPD), Faustino Varela, considered today that the activation of the Chave Móvel Digital ( Digital Mobile Key) (CMD) functionalities represents a gain in the facilitation, speed and efficiency of digital public services.
Contacted by Inforpress after the approval of this instrument by the Government, Faustino Varela assured that the implementation of the Digital Mobile Key will simplify the process of obtaining State services and signing documents by digital means.
“The National Data Commission, which had given its opinion to the legislative decree, understands that it is a secure means of authentication because there is a double security factor. As is known, obtaining the Chave Móvel Digital presupposes the association of the citizen’s identification document number, which can be CNI, passport or residence permit for foreigners. This number is associated with a mobile phone number or an electronic address, that is, email and generates a six-digit password”, he explained.
According to Faustino Varela, it is a safe tool because the code is randomly generated and its use must be unique and temporarily restricted for the authentication of each citizen, preventing risks of fraud.
