Africa-Press – Cape verde. The Ambassador of the Republic of India to Cabo Verde, Sanjeev Jain, today highlighted the importance of strengthening parliamentary relations between the two countries after a meeting with the President of the National Assembly, Austelino Correia.
“We addressed the ongoing processes in our parliaments and ways to increase cooperation and engagement between the two sides,” Ambassador Jain said, adding that the Speaker of the National Assembly also shared ideas on specific areas of mutual interest, which could be targeted for cooperation in the short and medium term.
“These areas include the double taxation agreement, bilateral investment promotion plans and visa-free travel for holders of diplomatic passports, among others,” he said.
Cooperation between the two countries’ parliaments was highlighted as a priority, with ambassador Sanjeev Jain stating India’s interest in establishing closer ties, through visits and training programs for secretaries and deputies.
