Feelings of insecurity plagues six out of seven people in the world, says new UNDP report

Africa-Press – Cape verde. The UNDP Report on Human Security 2022 released on Tuesday says that six out of seven people around the world are plagued by feelings of insecurity.

The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Report on Human Security, data and analysis, also shows that people’s sense of safety and security is at a low, despite years of upwards development success, and calls for greater solidarity and reorientation of development efforts.

According to the document, the progress of global development has not led to a greater sense of security, since benefiting from some of the highest levels of good health, wealth, and education outcomes are reporting even greater anxiety than 10 years ago.

According to the Report’s data, in 2021, despite the largest global GDP in history, global life expectancy declined for the second year in a row, falling by about a year and a half on average compared to the pre-COVID world.
