Africa-Press – Cape verde. The teams from Ponta Verde and Santo António will compete, on Thursday the 10th, in the final of the 19th edition of the São Lourenço Tournament, as part of the festivities of São Lourenço, patron saint of the parish with the same name.
The team from Ponta Verde was the first to guarantee their presence in the final after defeating their Monte Tabor counterpart on Saturday by a minimum difference of 1-0. The goal that allowed this team to play in the final was scored by Ká.
The team from São Lourenço, on the other hand, managed to qualify for the final after thrashing Monte Vaca 4-0 on Sunday, goals scored in the second half of the match by Alex Tony (3) and Palim.
Other cultural activities start this Tuesday
For the music festival, artists such as Kino Cabral, Tony Fika, Augusto Cego, Trio do Fogo and Dj Bay Girl are confirmed for the festival of São Lourenço 2023, which honors Augusto Cego.
Confirmation of the artists is done through the São Filipe chamber page on social networks, noting that the edition of the festival that takes place on the 9th and 10th, honors Augusto Cego, a “living symbol of the local culture and who personifies the history and essence of the island and the municipality of São Filipe”.
The religious part takes place on the 10th with the celebration of the mass and procession from 10 am in the parish church of São Lourenço, in the upper north zone of the municipality of São Filipe.
