Africa-Press – Cape verde. Young people, in Sal, have been involved since Saturday, the 5th, in a youth week with various activities that run until Sunday, as part of the celebrations of the International Youth Day, marked on August 12.
Promoted by the City Council of Sal, through the Youth department, today a group of more than 50 young people from different localities of the island, will be gathered during the day, in a forum that will take place in the noble hall of the Paços do Concelho, under the slogan “The role of young people in the municipality”.
The meeting should be based on three panels, namely “Association and volunteering as strength, resistance, solidarity and social cohesion in the municipality”, “Young project inspires you”, to encourage young people to be bold and successful in preparing and implementation of projects in various domains, and “Juventude Wau” (Youth Wau)– the journey of life”.
Speaking to Inforpress, the Councillor for Sport of the City Council of Sal, Euclides Silva, said that the realisation of the Youth Week, which is already in its 25th edition, aims to create a spirit of exchange among young people, but also to awaken a sense of responsibility, and awareness of the challenges ahead.
