Africa-Press – Cape verde. The President of the Republic, José Maria Neves, will participate today in the activities of São Lourenço (São Filipe) and from Friday at the Mosteiros Municipality Day festivities that run from 11 to 15 of August.
The PR, which arrived on the island of Fogo this Wednesday (09), will participate today in the mass of São Lourenço, in the municipality of São Filipe, before going to Mosteiros to participate in the celebrations of the Day of the Municipality.
In that municipality, José Maria Neves, special guest of the mayor of Mosteiros, Fábio Vieira, presides on Friday the solemn session of the Municipal Assembly and, on Saturday, the gala of emigrants that takes place in the praça dos Pescadores (fishermen’s square) next to the municipal auditorium Pedro Pires.
During the course of the activities, the PR will preside over the opening of the conference of municipalities twinned with Mosteiros, as well as taking part in the final stage of the horse race and the mass and procession in honour of Nossa Senhora da Ajuda, the municipality’s patron saint.
