Africa-Press – Cape verde. Cape Verdean international boxer Sifonelo Lopes is already in the United States of America and starts training today, aiming at the preparation work for the qualification for the Paris’2024 Olympic Games.
The Grand Master of martial arts and Cape Verde taekwon-do coach, Josep Pina, one of the main responsible for the 2022 African zone II gold medal, told Inforpress that Sifonelo Lopes will start, this afternoon, the training at Brockton’s accredited gym with the coach responsible for the feats of fellow Creole Demetrius Andrade, world champion in the middleweight category.
Pina explained that this boxer, who has dominated Cape Verdean boxing in the last 10 years, will have all the conditions to work and perfect his techniques during a season, but regretted that bureaucratic problems had delayed the departure of this “boxer”, as I had already obtained the visa about a month ago.
“The initial training plan was that Sifonelo could arrive at the same time as the young sprinter Micaela Andrade, who obtained the visa together and has already spent many days training with an athletics specialist in Las Vegas”, said Joseph Pina.
