Africa-Press – Cape verde. The Municipality of Santa Catarina, in the interior of Santiago, marks this Saturday, the 12th, the International Youth Day with various entertainment activities as well as reflections, bringing together young people from all over the municipality.
“The activities include moments of conviviality and entertainment, but also of reflection, bringing together leaders of groups and youth associations from all over the county”, says a press release from the local authority, promoter of the initiative, through the Youth Department. and Sport.
These World Youth Day celebrations in Santa Catarina start at around 9 am, with the intervention of the Director of Youth and Sports, Emanuel Coelho, in the Main Hall of the Town Hall.

Then follows, at around 9:30 am, the opening of the first open conversation, on the theme “Femicide and Impunity”, with speakers from the Public Prosecutor Nilton Moniz and the president of ICIEG, Marisa Carvalho. Moderation is on account of Jurist Evelyne Monteiro.
“Relationships, respect for oneself and for others” will be the theme of the second open conversation to be given by psychiatrist Manuel Faustino and moderated by the teacher and vice-president of the Municipal Assembly, Vanda Semedo.
Musical animation with local artists
In the afternoon, from 4 pm onwards, there will be musical entertainment with local artists, namely Biqueste and Sílvio Brito, Edy Young and João de Sousa.
This activity is preceded by an intervention by the mayor Jassira Monteiro, at around 12.30 pm, in the Town Hall.
