The seaside resort of Salinas, on the island of Fogo, is in the process of having its own fuel station, a long-standing claim of communities in the northern part of the Municipality of São Filipe. The cost of the infrastructure, worth 800,000 escudos, will be borne by the Autonomous Fisheries Fund.

As advanced this Monday, the 14th, the Ministry of the Sea, through a publication on its official Facebook page, this fuel station will be built within the scope of a partnership between the Ministry of the Sea and Construções Monteiro, also having the partnership with the Municipality of São Filipe as a partner.

The same source adds that a partnership has already been signed between the Ministry of the Sea and Construções Monteiro for the construction of a structure for the placement of this fuel pump in Salinas.

Financing of the Autonomous Fisheries Fund

The structure for placing the fuel pump will be financed by the Ministry of the Sea, through the Autonomous Fisheries Fund, in the amount of 800 thousand escudos.

It should be recalled that the fuel station for fishing in Salinas is an old claim of communities in the northern part of the municipality of São Filipe who wish to have closer fuel for fishing.

Within the framework of the policy of providing remote fishing communities with more means for their activity, the Ministry of the Sea says that it has been supporting promoters in the construction of bases for the installation of fuel pumps in these locations to supply the fishing fleets.
