Africa-Press – Cape verde. The Secretary of State for Digital Economy, Pedro Lopes, considered fundamental the role of startup initiatives in the diversification of the economy in the country, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Pedro Lopes made these considerations in an interview with Inforpress, addressing the gains of the digital economy and the future challenges of Cabo Verde for the sector to be one of the strategic axes of the country’s economic development.
As he explained, the pandemic has created new digital opportunities and many have taken advantage of the tools to start businesses have made it easier to use various services.
However, he warned of the need to “bet more on the critical mass”, in the training of talents, adding, therefore, the importance of creating programs to promote startups as the Cabo Verde digital.
