Africa-Press – Cape verde. The Minister of Health, Filomena Gonçalves, reaffirmed this Sunday in Praia her commitment to eliminating precariousness in the sector and anticipates an increase in the share of the pie for the health sector in the State Budget for 2024.
The minister made these statements to the press moments after the new chairman of the board of directors (PCA) and the new administrator of the University Hospital, Dr. Agostinho Neto, Gabriel Gonçalves and Melissa Santos, took office.
Asked about her recent statement that she will do everything in her power to eliminate precariousness in the health sector and whether this would mean an increase in the 2024 State Budget for health, the Minister of Health replied: “There certainly will be. We’re working on it.
“There is every sensitivity on the part of the government and we will do everything we can to ensure that what is the health sector’s greatest asset, which is its human resources, can have everything it needs, according to the country’s capacities,” she emphasised.
