Africa-Press – Cape verde. São Vicente’s municipal elected representatives will meet in ordinary session on Wednesday and Thursday to analyse, discuss and approve the proposed Plan of Activities and the Municipal Budget for 2024.
The ordinary meeting of the Municipal Assembly, to be held at the Jotamont Academy, to approve next year’s budget will take place at a time when the municipality of São Vicente is still on a duodecimal basis because the city council has not approved the management instruments, of which the Municipal Budget and the Activity Plan for 2023.
However, as Inforpress noted in Law no. 79/VI/2005 of 5 September, which establishes the Financial Regime for Local Authorities, the date of the ordinary session complies with the legal deadline for approving the instruments for 2024.
In fact, point 1 of article 39 of the aforementioned regime states that the City Council, through its Mayor must present to the Municipal Assembly, by August 25th of each year, the municipal budget proposal for the following economic year.
