
Africa-Press – Cape verde. The Minister of Family, Inclusion and Social Development, Fernando Elísio Freire, is traveling to the Republic of Mozambique today for an official four-day visit at the invitation of the Minister of Labor and Social Security of that country, Margarida Talapa. The official visit to the Republic of Mozambique runs until the 8th of this month.
According to Inforpress, this official visit has the main objective of strengthening the existing ties of cooperation and friendship between Mozambique and Cape Verde within the framework of the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Family, Inclusion and Social Development of Cape Verde and the Ministry of Mozambique’s Labor and Social Security, aiming to strengthen long-term bilateral relations to promote common interests and mutual benefits, particularly in the area of Labor and Social Security.
Of the actions to be carried out, according to the memorandum, emphasis should be given to exchanges of experiences through study visits and technical assistance, practical short-term internships in different organizational structures, training to reinforce technical capacity in different domains, formulation of projects and proposals for raising financial and other resources made available to the Member States of the CPLP (Community of Portuguese Speaking Countries) and ECOWAS (Economic Community of West African States).
Promotion of joint actions
The memorandum also mentions the promotion and organization of seminars, workshops, conferences, studies and joint projects, mutual support in the normative production in matters of social security, sharing of experiences, good practices, information and documentation, among other actions.
Fernando Elísio Freire’s travel agenda includes visits to various institutions, namely the National Institute of Social Security of Mozambique, as well as meetings with counterparts from the social areas of that country.
Following this trip, the official has scheduled, on his return, the inauguration of the new Branch of the National Institute of Social Security in Lisbon, Poretugal.
The holder of the Labor and Social Security portfolio will be accompanied by the president of the National Institute of Social Security, Mário Rui Fernandes.
