Africa-Press – Cape verde. This Thursday, the Municipal Assembly of Maio paid tribute to six personalities who made their contributions to the development of the island.
According to the president of the Municipal Assembly, Micheal Frederico, this recognition comes as a result of an agreement reached between the deputies of both parties as a way of recognising the contribution that these personalities have made and continue to make to the island’s development process.
Micheal Frederico highlighted that this was an intention that had been coming for some time, so they took advantage of this opportunity to recognize these personalities, for the contribution that each one made, in their own way, towards the development of the island.
The list includes businessman Aprígio Martins, José da Natividade for his contribution to religion, as well as former mayors Amílcar Andrade and Manuel Ribeiro, the songwriter Jorge Tavares and ladies who extract salt.
