Africa-Press – Cape verde. Cape Verdean international boxer Ivanusa “Nancy” Moreira beat her opponent from Botswana, Kasemang Aratwa, in Dakar, Senegal, on Monday 11 September to qualify for the second round of the Paris’2024 Olympic qualification tournament.
According to information from the International Olympic Committee’s Task Force, the organisation responsible for this event at continental level, Nancy Moreira, Africa’s 63-66 kg champion and considered to be the new star of Cape Verdean boxing, beat her competitor from Botswana 4-1 to remain well in the fight for qualification.
The Nancy Moreira’s next fight will be against a competitor from Mozambique.
Also in the ring, this Monday, was the athlete Admilson Carvalho, who had won his fight on Sunday and passed to the second phase of the competition, but this time he lost his fight and thus ends up on the way in this competition.
