In a telephone conversation held yesterday, the 12th, the two heads of state discussed the 77 + China Summit to be held between the 15th and 16th of this month, in Havana, Cuba, and discussed the possibility of strengthening cooperation between Cabo Verde and Cuba, particularly in the field of Health.
According to a press release, the two leaders also focused on strengthening South-South cooperation and “solidarity and international cooperation as an essential tool for the development of peoples and nations, in this context of multiple crises that marks the new world order”.
Miguel Diaz-Canel took advantage of the occasion to invite the Cape Verdean President of the Republic to visit the Republic of Cuba, an invitation that was “readily accepted” and JMN also invited his Cuban counterpart to visit the Cape Verde archipelago.
It is worth noting that José Maria Neves was invited by the Cuban Presidency to the 77 + China Summit but for “logistical reasons, he will not be able to be present in Havana”.
According to the same source, the summit will have pressing current issues for the international community on the table.
