Africa-Press – Cape verde. Cape Verdean international basketball players Edy Tavares, Ivan Almeida and Betinho Gomes, won the Spanish and Portuguese Super Cup last weekend, in their first appearances for their clubs after the Championship Basketball World Cup.
An achievement highlighted today by the Sports and Youth Institute (IDJ), which highlighted the way in which Edy Tavares won the Spanish Super Cup for the tenth time in its history, the sixth in a row and the ninth in the last 12 years.
“An unprecedented dominance, totaling 12 consecutive victories since 2018. The Cape Verdean international, recorded 12 points and 11 rebounds”, praised the IDJ, which was also pleased with the feat achieved by Ivan Almeida and Betinho Gomes, in the 37th .th edition of the Supertaça Mário Saldanha, at the service of Sport Lisboa e Benfica.
Betinho Gomes and Ivan Almeida contributed ten and eight points, respectively.
