In a press conference held this Tuesday in Praia to promote the concert, Gilson Lima, from Grupo Brugil Eventos, said that the process of organizing the show began six months ago, with pre-production, contacts and artist signings. , and establishing possible partnerships so that the show takes place in the desired way.
The show, he explained, tells a little about the story of Nelson Freitas and Djodje, of their projects developed, around music, culture and entertainment, in the world and in Cape Verde.
“In each country ‘Kriol Kings’ is a different project, they have already been to Holland, Portugal, England and the United States, and now it will be in Cape Verde and the show will feature a series of guest artists”, he said, revealing only the name by MC Acondizé.
“The show will be full of surprises with a production that, I believe, has not yet been done in the city of Praia. The public can look forward to a lot of magic and entertainment, because these are things that have not yet been done in Cape Verde in terms of event production, shows, lighting, pyrotechnics”, highlighted Gilson Lima, for whom other surprises will be revealed later.
Tickets, whose value is one thousand escudos, are now available on online platforms.
According to him, ‘Kriol Kings’ aims to visit other islands such as São Vicente, Sal and Fogo, but they are in the negotiation phase, so there are still no guarantees.
For his part, Nelson Freitas said that the event, which started in London (England), due to scheduling issues, had not yet been possible to hold in Cape Verde.
The idea for this show, which brings together two notable voices in Cape Verdean music, as Freitas narrated, arose during the quarantine period due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
“We always wanted to do something together, but the idea really took shape during quarantine. We came together and thought about bringing something unique to the public. Thank God, it has been a great success, and we are still going to do much more”, he maintained.
Djodje, in turn, told the press that ‘Kriol King’ is a project that above all shows the union between artists and the Cape Verdean community and that takes Cape Verde and the Portuguese-speaking African Countries (PALOP) to others “levels”.
The previous shows, he said, served as preparation, so the show on December 23rd will be “more shaped, with well-aligned teams”, hence a “very well prepared” show, he emphasized.
