Africa-Press – Cape verde. The use of clean electricity production means for self-consumption in Cape Verde has grown more than ten times in the last seven years, currently exceeding 10 megawatts (MW), the Minister of Industry, Commerce and Energy announced this Thursday.

“ In the use of clean energy for self-consumption, we have had incredible expansion. We went from just over one MW of global capacity in 2016 to more than 10 MW” , said, according to Lusa, Alexandre Monteiro, in Praia, at a press conference.
Means of production for self-consumption include equipment such as solar panels or wind turbines, devices that will be the focus of the eighth edition of the Sustainable Energy Forum of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS), presented today.

The regional event dedicated to sustainable energy will take place on the 11th and 12th of October, in Praia, alongside a fair dedicated to the sector with 94 exhibition stands, an area dedicated to electric cars and three meeting rooms, says the Lusa.
